We leave for the airport in 12 hours...and as we finish packing and checking, double checking, triple checking our lists, I am pausing to set this blog site up so you, our family and friends, can join us on our adventure.
I have found inspiration from some wise folks:
Confucius says: "Wheresoever you go, go with all your heart." (565 BC)
From
Maya Angelou: "Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by
demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it can
introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even
become friends." (1928 -2014)
And from Dan Rather: "If all
difficulties were known at the outset of a long journey, most of us
would never start out at all." (2010)
So wheresoever we go, difficulties and all (thanks, Dan Rather, for the reality check!), we hope to figure out the technology to post our observations and pictures, share our trials and tribulations, and celebrate this new country and her people. Nín hǎo, China! 您好
Best of luck, Banks family! I can't wait to hear about your travel adventures.
